The Back To School Program

At The Back To School Company our focus is making back to school shopping easier and less of a hassle for today’s busy parents while providing a benefit to schools.  Though schools provide students with the necessary supplies to facilitate the learning process, Stats Canada numbers indicate 45% of parents report expenditures of $100 each year on school supplies.  Typically parents shop department stores during their last days of summer vacation in a mad dash to find all the materials their children require, often forced to shop more than one store to fulfill their list.  Factor in the need for new clothes, back-packs and lunch box items along with gas and time and this task soon becomes an expensive chore.

The Back To School Company has developed an easy, convenient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly Back To School Program for students, parents, schools and school councils.  The Back To School Company purchases school supplies in bulk and packages them into our Back To School Kits™ providing a unique alternative to the traditional method of back to school shopping at department stores.  We offer 12 different kits, six primary kits for grades 1 through 3 and six Junior/Intermediate kits for grades 4 through 8.  Our kits range in price from $17.00 to $41.00.  The price of our kits are comparable to, or better than, that of major retailers.  What sets us apart is the fact that we provide a $3.00 commission to your schools student council for every kit sold, regardless of quantity. Our internet ordering option allows parents to purchase kits throughout the year so your school can “fundraise” over the summer months as we still provide a $2.00 commission on all internet orders.

Back To School Kits contain name brand items from reputable companies that offer quality, durable, safe, recognized products.  We’ve also sourced products that are available exclusively through The Back To School Company.

Here’s how our program works.

It really is that simple. We can quickly provide you with the number of kits purchased and give you an estimate on funds earned so you can incorporate those numbers into next years planning.  Our kits arrive at your school individually labelled with the student’s name.  The only time volunteers handle the kits are when they hand them to the students who purchased them. No unpacking or set-up required to distribute the kits. 

The word “fundraising” has a certain stigma attached to it.  As parents it typically means buying over priced items that we don’t really need, but since it supports our schools we buy anyway.  For schools it often means a great deal of soliciting, co-ordination and work on behalf of staff or volunteers with minimal rewards.  At The Back To School Company we believe a fundraiser should benefit not only students and schools but it should be easy to implement and require as little work as possible from the individual(s) who administer the program. With our Back To School Program, not only will your school earn fundraising dollars but you’ll provide your parents with the simplest means possible for obtaining the supplies the vast majority already purchase.
